A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you have a Linux shared hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you have in your account, it will take literally only one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
